Do you struggle with finding authentic accommodation, away from the crowds? La Porta Blu welcomes curious and adventurous couples and families, to stay in the historical center of Mogorella. Enjoy our rustic town house. It has a fully equipped and spacious kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a small private courtyard. The courtyard is a perfect spot for sunny breakfasts or summer dinners under the velvety black skies of the Mediterranean.
This is truly a piece of paradise!
Newly renovated traditional house in the Historical Center of Mogorella
The whole house, except for the kitchen fittings and the staircase leading to the upper floor, have been completely renovated in old style in 2017.
All windows are new. All doors have been renovated. Electrical and water installations are new.
The kitchen is fully functioning with a gas stove and oven, and a brand new refrigerator and freezer. There is a full supply of plates, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils.
To keep cool in the summer heat, there is a newly installed AC, two units downstairs and one upstairs. For your laundry a washing machine is provided in the inner corner of the triangular shaped kitchen, and you can dry your clothes outside in the walled in yard, on a three story drying rack.
The house has two new bathrooms, one with a shower downstairs and one with a small sized tub and a shower upstairs.
We were sceptical to the choice of color at first but once we saw the result we absolutely loved it! So much so, that we actually named our house LA PORTA BLU – The Blue Door!
Why Blue?
When we renovated our summer house, to live in it year round, our architect suggested we use a, for the area, traditional sky blue as an accent color on doors and windows. We were sceptical to the choice of color at first but once we saw the result we absolutely loved it! So much so, that we actually named our house The Blue Door – LA PORTA BLU!
This particular shade of blue is actually called celeste (sky blue) in Italian, but to keep it simple in all languages we are calling it the more generic blue – or in Italian BLU instead. 😊
